This site is for women who have had an abortion, and want a place to talk about it, and find peer support in a neutral, non-judgemental place. It does not endorse any political or religious view about abortion. It is strictly a neutral place of post-abortion healing and support for women, their families and friends.
Trudy M. Johnson, a certified counselor working with many women through brief intensive therapy, started this website in her passion to reach out to hurting women, especially those needing to grieve after pregnancy terminations.
In her text Understanding Abortion Grief and the Recovery Process, Trudy M. Johnson gives input to help understand the common thoughts and feelings that a woman experiences after an abortion and the kind of impact an abortion may have. She moreover shares some tips for recovering from an abortion.
In her book Forbidden Grief, Theresa Burke shares her experience in counseling hundreds of women for abortion-related emotional problems. She discusses how many women are pushed into abortion, and the difficulties of resolving the experience. She demonstrates how we can create a more understanding and healing society where women will no longer be obliged to hide their grief.
